Celebrating Women From Near And Far

Saturday, September 30th visitors from around the world will congregate at the Clinton Presidential Center in Little Rock for the inaugural World Woman Summit hosted by the World Woman Foundation. Aiming to be the global stage for celebrating women’s voices around the world in business, entertainment, science and technology, the conference will bring leaders from various backgrounds and experiences to share ways women can contribute to sustainable world solutions and accelerate women’s leadership in a bold new way.

When we learned about the World Woman Summit here at ESSE we felt drawn to the mission and knew we needed to get involved. As a women’s history museum, our core mission is to honor and celebrate all women. Our friend and former Executive Director of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas Lynnette Watts introduced us to the president and founder of the World Woman Foundation and World Woman Summit Rupa Dash. Through meeting and learning about the conference, ESSE offered to be the host site for the pre-summit event for speakers and dignitaries taking place the evening Friday, September 29th!

The pre-summit event will feature nibbles from Capers/Copper Grill/Cajun’s, which is owned and operated by local female businesswoman Mary Beth Ringgold. Local female chocolatier Carmen Portillo will be in attendance sharing her chocolates and her success story. Libations will be provided by a female-led South African wine company. Not to mention ESSE is located in the South Main (SoMa) neighborhood, in which our owner Anita Davis was the driving force behind it’s re-development! The evening will be all about celebrating women from near and far! We look forward to both the pre-summit event here at ESSE and the World Woman Summit, and we are truly honored to be involved!

{The pre-summit event at ESSE September 29th is a private event closed to the public. Information about the World Woman Summit September 30th can be found at http://www.worldwomanfoundation.com/conference/}
